- Hoka shoes and rolling ankles? - Triathlon Forum - Slowtwitch Forum
I have the Hoka Stinson Tarmac and been having problems with rolling ankles on trails It’s happening too frequently Can’t really avoid it no matter how careful I am on planting my feet Anyone know of a way to deal with this? Replace the fast ties with standard laces? Remove my orthotics? Buy mafates or the Stinson trail when running trails? thanks
- Plantar Fasciitis - Hoka shoes a solution? - Triathlon Forum . . .
The ART practitioner recommended that I maintain my same shoes while being treated so I returned the Hoka’s I am intrigued by the shoe as it was very comfortable and may be something I consider at an older age (currently 43) One more thing, You may want to try superfeet insoles also for road running and every day walking
- Hoka, I give up. What shoe now? - Triathlon Forum - Slowtwitch Forum
I was reading similar comments about Hoka and the endless new models appearing - and one comment summed it up well… “The Bondi and Clifton are being co-opted by non-runners and the market for those two shoes has been moving toward lifestyle comfort You don’t want your brand to be caught between lifestyle and serious sport
- Hoka Cliftons are destroying my toes - forum. slowtwitch. com
The new Clifton’s (2s and 3s) seem to have a narrower toebox compared to the originals I switched to the Hoka Claytons and they fit my wide feet much better And as a bonus they are lighter than the Clifton’s +1 Claytons are much more roomy Of note: I also went down a half-size in the Clayton versus my usual size in Kinvaras
- Blisters calluses on arches balls of the feet with Hoka Clifton Bondi . . .
Over a year ago I switched from Nike Pegasus to Hoka Clifton because of tightness in calves achilles (can’t do 0 drop shoes) I love Nike, they fit me great, shoes look awesome, they make me feel like I run like Jan Frodeno But I have weak achilles and had constant tightness in the calves, despite stretching, foam rolling, massages, etc When I switched to Hoka it was almost like an

Hello On recent Hoka shoes, on the medial side of the midsole, some data appears : S with 2 numbers V with 1 number W with 1 number (or C 001 if a carbon plate) W (weight) indicate the weight in grams for size 9 (for men shoes) This is coherent with all shoes I checked V (volume) apparently indicate the volume of the midsole in cm3 for size 9 men (884 for Bondi X, 655 for Clifton 8
- Hoka sizing - my own study + results - Triathlon Forum - Slowtwitch Forum
We’ve had some discussions here about Hoka sizing I got a number of pairs of shoes, different sizes, here’s what I’ve discovered (at least for my size) I first wrote about Hoka One One some years back, when the only shoe Hoka made was the good ship (battleship) Mafate This boat introduced me to the Hoka concept, and it was big Just big Shortly thereafter Hoka introduced its road
- Hoka One One negative effects? - Triathlon Forum - Slowtwitch Forum
I am wondering whether anyone has experienced pain after switching to Hoka One Ones I recently picked up a pair of Bondi B’s (at a great price) and was really excited to run in them I had been running in Asics Landreth 7’s (discontinued, but like a Cumulus) and was experiencing some knee pain I have worked over the last two-plus years to alter my gait and cadence and am a midfoot
- Hoka sockless? - Triathlon Forum - Slowtwitch Forum
Do Hoka shoes give you blisters when sockless? Which models have you tried? I searched the forum and found a handful of reports of blisters from seams in Hokas, and one report of no problems I’d be interested to hear from a few more people about experiences running sockless in them to build a better picture, please Until a recent ankle injury I’d been mostly very happy with the somewhat
- Hoka One One = Worst customer service - Triathlon Forum - Slowtwitch Forum
Hoka had a new pair on the way each time in less than a week So I think their customer service is outstanding Not sure about the quality of their shoes anymore though RandMart July 28, 2020, 1:44pm 4 FWIW: “One One” is pronounced ‘onay-onay’ It is Maori for "time to fly’ It is also pig Latin for ‘no-no’ SoonerBorn July 28
